Developing a tinnitus and hyperacusis therapy clinic involves several stages. Some of the key points to consider are listed below:

·       Explore sources of referrals and referral criteria to your service   

·       Developing appropriate policies & procedures for the clinic

·       Staff training on the science of tinnitus & hyperacusis rehabilitation

·       Developing clinical competency and proficiency in delivering specialised CBT for tinnitus, hyperacusis and misophonia  

·       Assessment & outcome measurements  

·       Ongoing clinical audits to monitor treatment outcome and staff performance

·       Ongoing clinical supervision and support for audiologists who specialise in tinnitus & hyperacusis rehabilitation   

·       Patient information and education materials

·       Modify service specification to match the needs of children with tinnitus and hyperacusis as well as patients with learning difficulties, language barrier, etc
